Ann Blackburn re-elected in Farnley & Wortley

Ann Blackburn was returned as the councillor for Farnley & Wortley ward following the local council elections of 7th May. Ann received 3,831 votes (36.5%) with Labour coming second with 3208 votes (30.5%), the result being announced at the Leeds Arena today. The result means that the Green Party retains 3 councillors in the Farnley & Wortley ward.

Elsewhere in the Leeds West wards Nick Crawley’s 1108 votes in Armley saw the Greens finish 3rd, Kate Bisson polled 791 in Bramley & Stanningley, and Meadow Hudson came 2nd in Kirkstall with an impressive 1755 votes. In the General Election Andrew Pointon’s 3,217 votes (8.4%) was the best ever Green result in the Leeds West constituency.
